ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A house fire in northwest Albuquerque left an unknown number of animals dead and two people displaced Wednesday night, according to Albuquerque Fire Rescue.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 7527 San Benito St. NW at 10 p.m. and reported smoke coming from an open garage and inside the house.
Fire and Rescue units were able to help with removing some of the animals inside the home; however, some of the animals died, AFR said. A spokesperson for AFR told KRQE News 13 that they do not have information on the total number of animals that were killed.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, and damage to the home was mostly contained to two rooms. Two people who lived in the home were displaced and are being helped by family.
