Better late than never, the old saying goes.

That may be the philosophy Charles Brown used Monday night when he got up to speak before the Mount Clemens City Commission during the public comment section.

Brown, 75, rose to deliver a compliment to commissioners for resurfacing Miller Street, where he resides with his wife. The roadwork was completed back in 2023.

He said the asphalt road was so messed up “if I didn’t hold on to my teeth, they were gone by the time I got to Robertson. Now I can put my teeth in before I leave,” he said to the commission’s amusement over his comment about his dentures.

“I’d like to thank you for fixing the street,” he said.
