(Photo) A fire yesterday destroyed Hawk on Bay – formerly the White Hawk Supper Club – on Bay Lake. “It’s a total loss,” said Sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Clarine. Smoke was spotted about 10 a.m. and fire fighters from six departments battled the flames for five hours. No one was injured in the blaze.

30 years ago (1995)

Lenny Thompson of Brooklyn Park caught a 16-9 northern to win the 21st Annual Northerns, Inc., tournament at Ron’s Squaw Point on Gull Lake. More than 220 contestants combined to reel in 61 northerns, averaging 8-8 in size. All but four were released alive.
