Kimmel, who has been a vocal critic of Trump, accused Republicans of using Kirk's death to criticize their opponents. In a statement, the Writers Guild of America criticized the move, saying: "If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution."
