An El Paso man was sentenced to five years of probation in a revenge porn case after he threatened to release sexual videos of his girlfriend, court records show.

Ivan Alejandro Alvarado, 24, received a suspended two-year jail sentence and five years of probation as part of a plea agreement with the El Paso District Attorney's Office, court records show. He will not serve the jail time as long as he completes his probation.

Alvarado pleaded guilty to one count of publishing or threatening to publish intimate visual material and was sentenced to probation during a Wednesday, Sept. 10, hearing before 409th District Court Judge Sam Medrano at the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse in Downtown El Paso.
