El Paso's Fernie Acosta is enjoying a bit of Hollywood limelight these days.

The Americas High School athletic trainer's character is being played in the movie, "The Senior," a sports drama film based on the story of Mike Flynt, who at the age of 59 played college football.

Flynt joined the 2007 Sul Ross State football team in Alpine, Texas, and played the linebacker position. Acosta just happened to play linebacker as well and eventually became friends with Flynt. Acosta and Flint have remained friends through the years.

By playing the same position, Acosta and Flynt spent a lot of time together preparing for games, going through the same type of drills, and discussing the game of football.
