The Summer I Turned Pretty series finale dropped on Prime Video in the early morning hours of Wednesday (September 17), and within just a few hours, the streaming service announced that a movie had been greenlit .

The book’s original author and the co-showrunner, Jenny Han , is writing and directing. While plot details were not immediately available, Jenny shared that there’s “another big milestone” left for Belly.

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due. I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans,” Jenny shared, prompting fans to wonder if that “big milestone” is perhaps Belly’s wedding.
