A man was accused of stalking a woman who lived on the York County street where a mass shooting happened Wednesday that killed three and injured two police officers, court records show.
Matthew J. Ruth, 24, of Hanover, was charged on Wednesday with stalking, loitering/prowling at nighttime, and criminal trespassing.
Police were attempting to serve the arrest warrant for those charges on Wednesday afternoon, when someone opened fire on officers on the 1800 block of Haar Road in North Codorus Township. CNN reported the shooter was clad in camouflage and hiding in a cornfield .
Ruth was not identified as the shooter.
