The Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on Maryland Route 3 in Gambrills at Crofton Station has closed abruptly, according to a sign posted on the door.
The sign points customers to instead visit sister locations in Catonsville, Washington, D.C., or Rockville. The Gambrills location was the doughnut chain’s last in Anne Arundel County.
Google reviews for the location praised its customer service and selection. It is unclear what exactly caused the closure.
The store was the chain’s triumphant return to the county around a decade ago . Before then, there was a Krispy Kreme in Glen Burnie that opened in 1999 and closed in 2009.
Those who frequented the location often may soon have to switch to the Dunkin’ down the street.
