Reggie Newman has worn the Victoria Royals jersey for nearly half a decade, and now he’ll wear the captain’s ‘C’.

The Royals announced Tuesday that Newman has been named the 10th captain in franchise history.

A Kamloops native born in 2005, Newman has been a mainstay in Victoria’s lineup since being drafted 72nd overall in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

Over 232 regular-season games, the 20-year-old right winger has tallied 44 goals and 68 assists for 112 points. At 6'2" and 201 pounds, he has carved out a reputation as a net-front presence and reliable contributor at both ends of the ice.
