SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA – At least three school districts have gone into lockdown Thursday morning after warnings from local law enforcement.
Byron Public Schools says first Byron High School went into a “soft” lockdown around 9:20 am, with all school facilities following at 10:15 am. Hayfield Community Schools say they went into lockdown at around 10:05 am. Kasson-Mantorville Schools says it also entered a "secure state" Thursday morning.
Byron Public Schools says it acted due to “concerning behavior from a community member.” Hayfield Community Schools says it followed the advice of local police. Kasson-Mantorville schools has not released any information on its action.
