AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Wednesday that Samsung would receive a $250 million grant for its facility in Central Texas.

The Samsung Austin Semiconductor factory in Taylor has yet to open, but it has been projected to contribute $26.8 billion to Central Texas. The $17 billion plant was supposed to open in late 2024 but was delayed . It is now projected to open in 2026.

The latest grant was announced during a meeting with Samsung executives at the Texas Capitol.
