While a Pontiac man recently convicted in a retrial for the murder of a Waterford man awaits his sentencing next month, another connected to the incident learned his fate Sept. 17.

At the conclusion of a jury trial in Oakland County Circuit Court earlier this month, Christian Harris, 19, was found guilty of first-degree homicide, armed robbery and firearms-related offenses in connection with the murder of Armani Terrell Baker, 22.

Baker was shot to death on April 29, 2023. Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies responding to a report of shots fired found his body in the front seat of a Ford Fusion with the doors open, on Hammond Street near Nelson Street in Pontiac. He’d been hit multiple times by gunfire.
