Former US vice president Kamala Harris has offered some insight into her selection process for a running mate in last year’s Presidential election, including sharing her thoughts on gay politician Pete Buttigieg.
Kamala Harris, who served as vice president under Joe Biden, took up the Democratic ticket after Biden eventually backed out of the race last July follow increasing pressure to do so. It gave Harris only 107 days to mount a campaign head of November’s election.
In a new excerpt from her forthcoming memoir, 107 Days , Harris said that Buttigieg, who went up against Biden and Harris for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2020 election and later became Biden’s Transportation Secretary, “would have been an ideal partner – if I were a straight white man.”
