Noel Gallagher joined talkSPORT to pay homage to the late Ricky Hatton.

The British boxing legend was found dead at his home in Greater Manchester in the early hours of Sunday morning, much to the dismay of the Oasis star.

Hatton struck up a great friendship with the Gallagher brothers in the 2000s, and famously enlisted their help to carry his championship belts to the ring for his 2008 bout with Paulie Malignaggi in Las Vegas.

Liam paid tribute to Hatton on social media earlier this week, and now Noel has shared some touching words about his pal during an appearance on talkSPORT Drive on Thursday afternoon.

"We were texting each other last week, and I saw him at Heaton Park a couple of times that night, and he was on standard Ricky form," said Noel.
