SARATOGA SPRINGS — Moments of silence were observed during Tuesday’s City Council meeting in Saratoga Springs in remembrance of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and Democratic speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives Melissa Hortman — who was fatally shot along with her husband in June.
“I’d like to ask we observe a moment of silence for Charlie Kirk and his family,” said city Supervisor Michele Madigan, a Democrat. “Political violence from any side has no place in this country and one of the best ways to protect free speech is to reject violence wherever and whatever side it comes from because it only serves to silence people.”
