SESAC celebrated Ariana Grande as the organization’s songwriter of the year on Thursday night.

The Grammy-winning pop star — who recently announced her first tour in seven years in support of her “ Eternal Sunshine ” album — was additionally recognized for the set’s smash hit “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love).” The single became Grande’s seventh song to debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, earning her the record for female artist with the most number-one debuts in history.
