SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - City officials have announced they are permanently closing a road not far from the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The city says they’ll be closing Old Dakota Ave and Riverview Drive. This area is located next to the entrance leading to Veterans Memorial Bridge and across from the McDonald’s.

“Landowners in the area support this action to improve traffic and pedestrian safety,’ stated the city in a press release.

Starting Monday, Sept. 22, the city says signs and barricades will be placed on this road to begin the closure process. The city says the McDonald’s entrance will not be impacted by this closure.
