WILLIAMSBURG — On Monday evening, Patriot Park at the University of the Cumberlands filled with students and community members for a vigil in respect to Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative political activist and commentator who founded Turning Point USA, an organization that promotes conservative principles on college campuses.

Kirk died Sept. 10, after being fatally shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
