The Los Angeles Chargers are signing defensive end Clelin Ferrell, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Thursday.

The 28-year-old veteran worked out for the team on Tuesday. Terms of the reported deal were not disclosed.

The move comes after Khalil Mack hurt his elbow in Monday’s win against the Las Vegas Raiders and subsequently landed on injured reserve.

Selected by the then-Oakland Raiders with the fourth overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, Ferrell recorded 26 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 14 games (10 starts) last season for the Washington Commanders.

Ferrell, 28, was cut by Washington on Aug. 26.

He has 159 tackles, 17 sacks and four forced fumbles in 89 games (57 starts) with the Raiders (2019-22), San Francisco 49ers (2023) and Commanders (2024).
