Annalyse Bauer knew she was close to breaking the all-time scoring record in Latrobe girls soccer history. But she had one big hope for when it happened.
She wanted to do it at home.
Bauer’s wish came true, with the senior tallying four goals on Monday night in Latrobe’s 8-0 win against Armstrong.
“I was just super excited,” Bauer said. “I knew I wanted to do it at home. I was working the whole game for it. I was glad to be able to do it in front of my family, friends and everyone who came out.”
Her teammates and coaches celebrated by giving the forward a Gatorade shower after the match and a postgame dinner.
“They were really happy for me,” Bauer said. “Their support is incredible. The record is just a total team effort.”
