EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Police have released details on their investigation into the murder of a local realtor, which has now led to charges against one man.

As we reported on Thursday, Evansville Police announced that charges of Murder and Burglary had been filed against suspect Jamerus Parkman following the murder of 74-year-old Susan Haynie.

A police report obtained by 44News says Haynie was found dead in the basement of her home by a friend who had gone to visit her.

When officers found Haynie, they say it appeared she had been strangled. An autopsy conducted following Haynie's death confirmed her cause of death was asphyxiation.
