A security guard is recovering after being shot twice Thursday outside of a west Detroit motorcycle club, police said.
Officers responded at about 5 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert about gunfire in the 2500 block of Ewald Circle near Livernois and Oakman Boulevard, said Philip Rodriguez, commander of the Detroit Police Department's 10th Precinct.
Police arrived and found a person who had been struck by gunfire near a building, he said. The building is a clubhouse for a motorcycle club, according to the commander.
Rodriguez said the victim was privately conveyed to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"According to a preliminary investigation, there was a security guard working in the area, a vehicle approached, and one or two suspects fired shots at him," the commander said durin
