Residents urged to avoid downtown DeRidder following bomb threat at courthouse, authorities say

DERIDDER, La. (KPLC) - Authorities are asking residents to avoid downtown DeRidder as they investigate a bomb threat at the Beauregard Parish Courthouse.

All businesses and residents in the immediate area have been evacuated, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

DeRidder police are currently awaiting dogs from Fort Polk to search the courthouse for any threats.

Authorities are asking everyone to avoid downtown DeRidder until further notice.
