ATLANTA, Ga. (WSAV) - The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service announced the results of "Operation No Escape" during a press conference Thursday afternoon.

According to the FBI in Atlanta, the operation was a "surge of resources" to locate fugitives across Georgia. The six-week operation saw federal, local and state authorities team up to capture 177 fugitives.

Of those apprehended, 28 fugitives were wanted for murder, homicide or manslaughter. 60 people were charged with assault, and eight men were accused of crimes against children. 56 of the fugitives were captured by arrest teams led by the U.S. Marshals Service.
