The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released additional details about the recall of more than 590,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including new information about impacted models.
Toyota initially announced the recall on Sept. 11, saying that it concerned certain Crown, RAV4, GR Corolla, 4Runner, Camry and Highlander vehicles, as well as Lexus models LS, RX and TX cars. However, the company did not specify the model years at that time.
The recall for the 591,377 affected vehicles concerns the 12.3-inch display of the cars' instrument panel, according to NHTSA. The instrument panel may fail to display vital information, such as vehicle speed, brake system and tire pressure warning lights, increasing the risk of crash or injury.
Here's what to know.
