LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — Southeastern Lincoln County is under a flash flood warning as of early Thursday afternoon. The warning is expected to last until 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, according to the NWS. Some of the locations that could be impacted include Ruidoso, Lincoln, Ruidoso Downs, Fort Stanton, Glencoe, Alto, Lincoln State Monument, San Patricio, Bonito Lake and Hondo.

The warning includes Blue 2, South Fork and McBride burn scars in southeastern Lincoln County of central New Mexico. A doppler radar showed slow moving thunderstorms producing heavy rain at the South Fork burn scar at 1:17 p.m. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain has fallen, with an additional 0.25 to 0.5 inches possible in that area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin soon.
