VIRGINIA — A Hoyt Lakes woman has pleaded guilty to a child endangerment charge in connection with a crash that killed her 5-year-old daughter on Halloween 2023.
Evian Ja'mes Chanea Redd, 31, entered the plea to the gross misdemeanor count at a hearing Tuesday in State District Court. Isela Lilliana Marie Reyes was ejected and killed in the crash along an icy road, while Redd and a 2-year-old daughter suffered minimal injuries.
Redd’s plea specifically pertains to the younger child; a felony child endangerment charge related to Isela was dismissed by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office under the terms of a plea agreement.
