To put it lightly: Mike McDaniel's coaching seat with the Miami Dolphins is HOT.

Unless the Dolphins' rudderless season turns around, and in a hurry, it's hard to imagine McDaniel sticking around as Miami's head coach for long. So, here's the thing. If the Dolphins continue to toil around the doldrums ... when might McDaniel realistically get fired? There's no way he lasts the entire 2025 season, right?

When I look at Miami's regular-season schedule, the decision feels obvious. For one, I don't think the Dolphins would fire McDaniel after Thursday night's game against the Bills unless Buffalo did something like drop 60 points. Let's get that out of the way. However, the Dolphins have the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, and Bills again on their slate all before November 9th.

How many Miami wins are there in that group? Two, three maybe? And that would mean the Dolphins started 2025 with something like a 2-8 record. There's simply no way McDaniel's job survives a start like that, especially if Miami looks as inept as it has so far.
