Brendan Carr , the Trump-appointed chair of the body, lit the initial fuse Wednesday morning, which culminated in Kimmel’s suspension. On a right-wing podcast, Carr was asked about Kimmel’s jokes about Charlie Kirk’s killer and he delivered an unambiguous threat of retaliation against ABC if certain amends were not made.
