A nonprofit that has accrued $40 million in private-funding commitments to revitalize downtown San Francisco has hired a former head of Oakland and New York City housing agencies to be its first chief executive officer.
The San Francisco Downtown Development Corporation , which was formed with Mayor Daniel Lurie’s support and publicly launched in April, announced Wednesday it had named Shola Olatoye to be its leader.
Olatoye, who will take charge Oct. 1, is currently the chief operating officer of Hayward-based Eden Housing, an affordable housing provider, which she joined in October 2022.
