(KALB) - Several parishes in Cenla are issuing burn bans due to dry weather. Check back for information as we add to the list.
ALLEN PARISH:
The Allen Parish Police Jury has issued a burn ban in response to the ongoing dry weather in the parish. On September 16, the Jury President Tony Hebert issued a state of emergency, declaring that all burning of trash and vegetation, as well as any other open burning, is prohibited at this time.
The ban does not apply to prescribed burns by the Department of Agriculture.
Private burning shall only be allowed by permission of the local fire department or local government. The use of barbeque grills, fire pits and small campfires for brief, recreational cooking purposes is allowed and not affected by the burn ban.
