MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The air conditioning is out at the already overcrowded Shelby County Jail at 201 Poplar. With the promise of federal help to crack down on crime in Memphis, there are many questions, including where the people who are arrested will go.

FOX13 has learned Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner has been working on a solution to the lack of prison space in Shelby and surrounding counties, but nothing is written in stone yet. Those discussions included the newly reopened prison facility in Mason, the same one that's now housing immigration detainees.
