TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Despite what’s being called a record-setting corn crop nationwide, North Country farms are facing a much different reality.
This is North Harbor Dairy owner Ron Robbins’ 48th harvest.
He’s about halfway through cutting his more than 3,000 acres of field corn.
“We will put up about 30,000 tons of corn silage that will be stored and fed to cows over the next year, year-and-a-half,” he said.
But this year’s weather conditions have been anything but favorable for the fields.
“We all have been sharing our stories about our farming histories, and we really feel that 2025 has created a lot of challenges for us,” he said.
