When the news first broke Wednesday evening that the Disney-owned ABC network was suspending the talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the first question was how long that “indefinite” suspension would last.
According to Variety, ABC affiliate stations were told that the show would be off the air at least until Thursday. In that 11:35 p.m. time slot the network will instead air repeat episodes of “Celebrity Family Feud.”
A memo from the ABC affiliate board, which serves as a liason for the network on behalf of station owners, said that “formal guidance from Disney/ABC is forthcoming.”
The memo also said that ABC has not yet made a decision about the future of Kimmel’s show, but that executives had been talking to Kimmel and his representatives, Variety reported.
