BOSTON — The NESN cameras caught injured rookie Roman Anthony standing beside manager Alex Cora in the dugout during the Red Sox’ 5-4 walkoff win over the A’s in 10 innings on Wednesday.
Cora said they weren’t having a baseball conversation.
“It was more about the treadmill and his workouts,” Cora said Thursday, smiling. “It was actually (the) Peloton yesterday. He did the assault bike yesterday. He added that to his program, which is a step in the right direction because that’s not easy to do. And we were joking about, ‘Hey, next time is (the) Peloton with (instructor) Olivia for a half hour.’”
Anthony has not set a timeline for his return from his oblique strain that landed him on the 10-day injured list Sept. 3. A 4- to 6-week absence is about typical for this type of injury . E
