COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A suspect is behind bars after a shooting at Zelmo’s Zip In/ Liberty gas station in Uptown Columbus last week.

Two people were injured in the incident on Sept 11, and 33-year-old Curtis Adams was one of the two, according to police. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday and arrested for the following:

2 counts of aggravated assault

2 counts of criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree

Possession of a firearm during commission of crime

Officials say Adams allegedly approached the victim and another person inside a car at the gas station on Veterans Parkway near 13th Street. He is accused of shooting the victim in the chest, resulting in the victim returning fire, hitting Adams in the chest.

There is no update on the victim’s condition.
