Los Angeles Dodgers legend and future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw is hanging up the cleats after the 2025 season.
On Thursday afternoon, the Dodgers announced via X/Twitter that Clayton Kershaw will retire after this season. Kershaw will make his final regular-season home start on Friday night against the San Francisco Giants (10:10 p.m. EST).
Retirement speculation had surrounded the past four years. Taking it year by year, Kershaw signed one-year extensions with the Dodgers in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
But after an iconic career that produced three NL Cy Young Awards, 11 All-Star Game selections, two World Series Championships, over 3,000 strikeouts and 222 wins (and counting) Clayton Kershaw has decided to retire.
