QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Bayside high school is "breathing a sigh of relief" after a gun was found in the possession of a student at school on Thursday, Mayor Eric Adams said.

According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the student made a post on social media at 10:17 a.m. on Thursday that showed a photo of what seemed to be schoolwork on a desk with a caption threatening to "shoot the school up."

The FBI caught wind of the post, prompting its National Threat Operations Center to notify police at 11:33 a.m., according to Tisch. The FBI agent provided specific information about the social media account, including the username, the person's date of birth and a phone number connected to the account.
