Mayoral candidate Katie Wilson scored a “dual” endorsement from MLK Labor on Wednesday night, sharing the honor with Mayor Bruce Harrell, whom the union coalition previously endorsed back in May.
Although the support is shared, it’s a victory for Wilson and a sign that previously cautious organizations in the labor world no longer see backing her campaign as risky.
“A dual endorsement by MLK Labor shows both candidates have earned meaningful support from working people and accurately reflects the views of union members across Seattle,” Katie Garrow, MLK Labor executive secretary-treasurer, said in a statement.
In the same meeting, MLK Labor also endorsed Girmay Zahilay for King County executive.
