PORTLAND, Ore. — A suspect has been arrested in the 2023 shooting death of an Albany man in Portland's East Columbia neighborhood .

According to police, 18-year-old Jimmi L. Lawing was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop, then extradited to Multnomah County and lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on a charge of first-degree manslaughter.

On Dec. 31, 2023, shortly after 8 p.m., officers responded to the area of Northeast Faloma Road, where they found two men who had been shot, including 21-year-old Skyler Stuckey. Both were taken to the hospital, where Stuckey died, and the second man — identified as an 18-year-old man — was treated and released.

The medical examiner determined that Stuckey died of gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.
