BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - The Bossier Police Department says the officers who were shot while responding to a murder-suicide incident at the Villaggio Apartments are recovering from their injuries.
Officers Travion Morris and Garen Simons were released from the hospital two days ago after a man at the Villaggio Apartments opened fire on them as they tried to enter the building. We’re told Officer Morris is home, and Officer Simons had surgery on his hand Thursday morning (Sept. 18).
Officer Morris was shot in the hand and the leg, while Officer Simons was shot in the wrist/hand. Both officers are expected to have follow-up treatments and undergo physical therapy, as well as get mental health support.
