MARSHALL, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The Marshall, Texas Lions Club (District 2-X2) partnered with members of other local clubs to provide free vision screenings to 399 kindergarten and special needs students in Marshall ISD.
Ten Lions from Gilmer, Marshall, and the Big Sandy area joined forces and volunteered their time.
The screenings identified 133 students with the need for further referral.
Marshall Lions Club vision screener, Angela Parker, said, “Our children’s ability to see clearly directly impacts their ability to learn. By identifying students in need of follow-up care, we’re helping give every child the chance to succeed in school and beyond.”
