President Trump on Thursday offered his full support to Brendan Carr , the FCC chairman, and warned that broadcasters who criticize him could lose their licenses.

Trump was asked about “ Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” which was indefinitely suspended on Wednesday. He argued that late-night shows are uniformly critical of him, saying “they haven’t had a conservative on in years.”

“When you have a network and you have evening shows, and all they do is hit Trump,” he said. “They’re licensed. They’re not allowed to do that. They’re an arm of the Democrat Party.”

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, the president also complained that 97% of broadcast news coverage is “against me.”
