MONROE, La. (KNOE) -
It will be able to house up to three families and offer a place to stay while their child is getting care on the seventh floor of the hospital.
It includes a living room, play area, showers, and a cooked meal per day.
“I think St. Francis serves such a large population, a large radius of families who are coming here to receive their medical care,” Ronald McDonald North Louisiana Mission Director Lori Moore said. “These families sometimes show up with only the clothing on their backs or may not have access to transportation. So the fact that they can stay in the hospital just down the hall from their child is really important. If we can take care of them, they are better equipped to take care of their child.”
The opening is planned for Spring 2026.
