Lights Up Productions turns to the past for new musical

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A local production company is turning to the past for its newest musical.

Lights Up Productions has been a part of Sioux Falls for six years, and its latest musical, The Journey Inside, weaves together pieces of past fall performances.

"That'd be Parables and Proverbs, Lost in Vegas, and Mystery, and then there's a special appearance by Pontius Pilate from the Passion and the Cross," Lights Up Productions founder Brent Grosvenor said.

In addition to characters ranging from The Coachman to Pontius Pilate, there's also a 25-foot dragon.

"SDSU student designed the head, and then some of my team and brilliant stage crew worked on the mechanics of it. And so, yes, it's quite an epic thing that we've pulled off, very difficult, but we have done it for this show,"
