SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has added 12 new hymns to its collection, "Hymns—For Home and Church," with lyrics available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.

Among the new additions is the hymn "Our Prayer to Thee," with lyrics written by church President Russell M. Nelson. The hymn was first published in 2003 and has been performed at several general conferences.

Elder Matthew L. Carpenter, an advisor on the committee overseeing the new hymnbook, said he hopes that as people sing the new songs, "they feel closer to Jesus Christ."

The new hymns, which will be available on the online Music Library, Gospel Library, and Sacred Music app, add to the global feel of the new hymnbook. They include "Jesus Is the Way," a popular Tongan hymn; "Can You
