MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — With professional hockey returning to Mobile, many people are reflecting on memories of the city's old team, the Mysticks.
It's a trip down memory lane for Atrisha Looney, the woman who came up with the name back in the 90s.
"I love sports," Looney said. "Any kind of sports, you know? So I think it's great."
Looney didn't know much about hockey in 1995 when a team first made its way to Port City.
But she was one of many excited for the sport to be on our stretch of the Gulf Coast.
"Well it was something new to do," Looney said. "To be able to go down there to the ice rink and, you know, see something different, like, we've always done football and baseball, you know, softball. But it was something new."
