KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — On most days, Peter Wolf loads up his dog Ellie for a trip up the road to the Beverly Dog Park near Fountain City.
It became a daily ritual after Wolf lost his wife, Julie. They had been married for 50 years.
"I mean, I'm basically starting my life over," he said. "It's not as often and not quite as painful as it was, you know, but I still have my moments."
Julie Wolf died a fear years ago, at home, surrounded by her family.
"Julie had always said, you know, if I go first, you know, you should get married again, is what she said, and I said, no, I'll just get a dog, that was always the joke. So I got the dog."
And that's how he met The Beverly Barkers. The group formed organically at the Beverly Dog Park near Fountain City.
