ALLEN PARK -- Starting cornerback D.J. Reed was a new addition to the injury report for the Detroit Lions on Thursday.

Reed was listed as a limited participant due to a knee injury. And while All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph was spotted during practice, the Lions are saying he was also limited due to a lingering knee ailment.

Reed played 60 snaps in the team’s win over the Chicago Bears, which was tied for the most on defense. The Lions cornerback posted five tackles, allowing three catches on three targets in coverage for 34 yards in the win.

He’s been strong against the run, showcasing his willingness to make a play at the line of scrimmage. Pro Football Focus ranks Reed in the top 20 among cornerbacks in run defense. It’s a good sign Reed was at least able to practice in some capacity to
